TESTING & REPORTING DATA FOR SPRAYED PRODUCTS

The data values listed are averages of results of actual sprayed samples that were applied with normal equipment in a normal fashion, and cured and are typical of what an applicator will likely get when applying our product.

Since these urethanes are made to be spray-applied at room-temperature and cured at room temperature, we test samples that are sprayed at room temperature and cured at room temperature. We gather our samples from in-house sprays as well as the outside independent contractors who apply our product. We do not use cast/poured ('drawn-down') samples, thin samples (i.e. 20 mil samples give artificially high results), heat-cured, or any other method that gives artificially high data.

We report the average of the results achieved, not the best case. For instance, a product that lists a tensile strength of 2,500 psi will normally vary from 2,300 to 2,700 on average.

We openly invite potential customers to test our products for themselves. Chances are, what they get will be very close (if not better) than what we list.

For example:

Example of a typical TECHTHANE product's reported vs. actual properties:

PROPERTY REPORTED ACTUAL %
Tensile Strength 2,500 2,550 102%
Elongation 500 475 95%
Tear Strength, Die C 350 360 103%
Tear Strength, split 70 71 101%
AVERAGE 101%

Example of ANOTHER products' reported vs. actual properties:

PROPERTY REPORTED ACTUAL %
Tensile Strength 2,400 1,300 54%
Elongation 400 260 65%
Tear Strength, Die C 350 245 70%
Tear Strength, split 65 25 39%
AVERAGE 57%

Message: If you want to compare TECHTHANE to another product, compare it to the actual product, not the other product's data sheet.
